Bivona Child Advocacy Center Names Dr. Daniele Lyman-Torres as New Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Lyman-Torres brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to the role

Rochester, N.Y. (October 6, 2022) – Bivona Child Advocacy Center (Bivona), a not-for-profit organization providing services to children who have experienced abuse, has announced that Dr. Daniele Lyman-Torres will be joining their team as its new Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Dr. Lyman-Torres will be responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, finances and strategic plan of Bivona, as well as mentoring the internal team and supporting the mission and vision of the organization. She will work with key partners across Monroe County and the City of Rochester to mobilize and strengthen the approach for the prevention, intervention, investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse.

Dr. Lyman-Torres has served the Greater Rochester community in key leadership roles for more than 22 years. She previously served as a Commissioner for the City of Rochester, where she was charged with human services and recreation. She also served as President and CEO of the Arc of Yates, as Chief People and Chief Operating Officer for Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority, Chief Operating Officer for Trillium Health and held key positions for United Way of Greater Rochester and Heritage Christian Services.

Dr. Lyman-Torres holds a Doctor of Education in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher University. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Business Management and a Master’s in Strategic Leadership from Roberts Wesleyan University and is a proud graduate of Monroe Community College. Dr. Lyman-Torres was a professor at the Roberts Wesleyan School of Business for 12 years, and also began a professorship at St. John Fisher University in 2007 where she currently teaches in the doctoral program. She also volunteers on the Board of Trustees for Monroe Community College and other community boards including the Willow Domestic Violence Center.

Bivona Child Advocacy Center partnered with executive search firm JK Executive Strategies, who identified and placed Dr. Lyman-Torres for the role.
