Bivona Child Abuse Summit Celebrates 10th Anniversary with nearly 1,000 attendees
Featured Speakers inspire with message of hope and resilience at the 2018 Summit

The 10th Annual Bivona Child Abuse Summit started off with a simple message, "Life is Magic."  Acclaimed magician and former NFL snapper Jon Dorenbos awed the crowd during his Keynote Address on the first day of the 10th Annual Summit. His amazing magic combined with his message of hope and resilience provided an inspiring start to our 10th Annual Summit.

On the first day, attendees participated in cutting-edge workshops on topics including case studies, issues relating to domestic violence, child fatalities, working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, and more. The first day culminated in a networking reception with a tailgate theme in honor of Keynote Speaker Jon Dorenbos.

The second day began with a reminder that self-care is an important component to the work done by the tremendous professionals who work in the field of child abuse prevention and intervention. Morning Plenary Françoise Mathieu, M.Ed., CCC., RP presented thoughtful, research-driven observations about compassion fatigue, secondary trauma and burnout, and reminded us all that that self-care is an important component to the work we do each day. Sessions throughout the rest of day two continued to provide solid, evidence-based information to our attendees, including the Afternoon Plenary Address from Dr. Joe Sullivan. As the 10th Annual Summit came to a close, we were inspired and ready for 2019.
