The Annual Bivona Golf Tournament was held last Monday, June 25th at Midvale Country Club and golfers were excited to kick off another year of our favorite summer event and the start of a new morning format called the Bivona Corporate Golf Challenge. The annual tournament raised $69,000 to support Bivona's comprehensive services for children who have endured the trauma of abuse.
The Bivona Corporate Golf Challenge consisted of 17 teams in a competition for the title of Bivona Corporate Golf Challenge Champion. Campus Construction Management Group was named the Champion of the inaugural Bivona Corporate Golf Challenge and their name will be added to a commemorative plaque at our 1 Mt Hope Avenue facility. Teams from Bank of America/Merrill Lynch and LaSala Family Foundation placed second and third respectively. In total, almost 40 teams of four joined us throughout the day for the tournament. The full list of the 2018 Bivona Corporate Golf Challenge teams included ARTISTIX, B&L Wholesale Supply, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Campus Construction Management Group, Christa Companies, Clark Patterson Lee, Conking and Calabrese, Constellation Brands, Elmer W. Davis Inc. Roofing, Fairport Music Festival, UR Medicine’s Golisano Children’s Hospital, LaSala Family Foundation, LeChase Construction, PEKO Precision, Rose & Kiernan Inc., and Sage Rutty.
Proceeds from the event will be used to support the comprehensive services offered at Bivona through our 22 partners. Danforth Company and Lawley; Eagle Sponsors Conifer Realty, Karen DelMonte-Geary, Fairport Music Festival, Hammer Packaging, M/E Engineering, Tele Data Com Inc., and the Cornerstone Group of Wells Fargo Advisors; and Birdie Sponsors C.P. “Child abuse is not an easy topic for people to talk about,” said Executive Director Deb Rosen. “Our golf tournament combines the fun energy of competition with an important opportunity for us to bring awareness to new groups within our community, and together we can help prevent child abuse.”
In addition to the morning’s Bivona Corporate Golf Challenge and the afternoon’s scramble play format, golfers were able to participate in a brief long-drive clinic with Ryan Steenberg, owner of 4 Performance in Rochester and a 6-time world long drive finalist.
