Bivona Child Advocacy Center has been awarded re-accreditation by National Children’s Alliance following an extensive application and site review process. As the accrediting agency for children advocacy centers (CAC) across the country, National Children’s Alliance awards various levels of accreditation and membership to centers responding to allegations of child abuse in ways that are effective and efficient, and put the needs of child victims of abuse first. Accreditation is the highest level of membership with National Children’s Alliance and denotes excellence in service provision.

Today, Bivona Child Advocacy Center celebrates its 7-year anniversary. Since opening, nearly 7,000 children have been provided a path to healing by Bivona Child Advocacy Center’s collaboration of partner agencies.

In conjunction with Child Abuse Prevention Month, Bivona Child Advocacy Center will host its third annual Bivona Summit on Child Abuse, Thursday and Friday, April 28-29, 2011, at the Rochester Plaza Hotel and Conference Center. The Bivona Summit, a multidisciplinary training conference for professionals who work with children, was created by Bivona Child Advocacy Center in recognition of the pressing need to build awareness and education about child abuse. Due to the extraordinary feedback and support received from the 700 total attendees in its first two years, the Bivona Summit on Child Abuse has been expanded to a two-day conference.

ROCHESTER, NEW YORK- March 10, 2011

Kip Palmer, President & CEO, Palmer Food Services was honored with Bivona Child Advocacy Center’s 2010 “Champion for Children” Award. The award was presented to Palmer at Bivona’s signature fund-raiser, Open That Bottle Night, which was held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Locust Hill Country Club. Bivona Child Advocacy Center’s Champion for Children Award is given annually to an exceptional individual whose community support and volunteer activities demonstrate selfless dedication to the organization.
