NCAA Issues Sanctions Against Penn State

Bivona Child Advocacy Center applauds the NCAA for its quick and decisive action against Penn State in the wake of the Sandusky scandal. The substantial fines and sanctions imposed upon the university and its football program make a strong statement that child abuse will not be tolerated. Any individual or organization that knowingly shields an abuser from criminal and legal action should be held accountable. Protecting our children must be our first priority. We hope that these punitive measures will serve as a reminder about the seriousness of the cover-up of these crimes. Colleges and universities and all organizations which potentially come into contact with children need to put specific guidelines and measures in place to ensure that such a horrific incident never happens again.

Freeh Report on Penn State University

On July 13, 2012, the committee led by former FBI Director Louis Freeh released a report based on its internal investigation of Penn State University and its actions surrounding the sexual abuse of children by former Assistant Football Coach Jerry Sandusky.   To read the full report, click here
