About

Created in September 2015 through a $75,000 grant award from the Golisano Foundation, the I/DD Alliance of Greater Rochester is a community partnership consisting of several local agencies working together to investigate, evaluate, treat, and prevent sexual and physical abuse of children with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

1 in 10 children will be sexually abused in the United States. Of this group, children with disabilities are 3-6 times more likely to be abused. The I/DD Alliance of Greater Rochester places a focus on broadening communication, raising awareness, and breaking down barriers for children with intellectual or developmental disabilities who have experienced sexual or physical abuse.
