From the very beginning
Profile on Alana Sansone
In 2003, Alana Sansone joined the steering committee to form Bivona Child Advocacy Center. Since the beginning, Alana has helped to shape the foundation of where the organization is today.
How did you first get involved with Bivona?
I was on the steering committee to form the organization. It was a very exciting and scary time for all of us not knowing if we were going to be successful or not. We had a very dedicated and strong group of people that were determined to make this organization a success. We successfully launched the organization with strong policies, practices and procedures put into place. It was one of my greatest and proudest accomplishments!
What do you find to be the most rewarding about your involvement with Bivona Child Advocacy Center?
I am extremely proud of the work that Bivona Child Advocacy Center does. These people pour their hearts and souls into a job that most people wouldn’t have the ability to do. Working in the field of child abuse is one of the most difficult jobs that someone can have and it takes special people to do this on a daily basis. To know that my contributions, whether it be financial or my time, helps a child heal from horrific circumstances and puts them on the road to overcome their tragedies and mend is one of my most rewarding experiences.
As an active volunteer, do you have any advice for other people who are interested in volunteering with us?
You can volunteer in a multitude of ways and each and every person involved is valued and appreciated. The team is awesome to work with and all are very engaging, helpful and fun to work alongside with, especially at the events! There are a lot of opportunities to help and this assistance is valued by not only the organization but by fellow volunteers.
What three things do you think of when you think about Bivona?
High standards, Leader in the field, Exceptional care
Thank you to Alana Sansone for her continued support. We are so grateful to call you an advocate for our cause!
