Honorary Board Member
Lou Bivona
Lou Bivona is a highly motivated senior executive with a well-established track record for capitalizing on business opportunities and maximizing bottom-line results. Lou joined Trusted Advisors in 1998 to lead an aggressive marketing effort focused on moving the organization from one-person CPA firms to multi-partnered firms.
Lou’s ability to coach highly successful financial professionals, blended with his experience in the CPA marketplace, has enabled Trusted Advisors to partner the two industries into a highly successful business model. This success garnered the endorsement of CPAmerica, one of the largest and most respected CPA associations comprised of firms with between $3 million and $25 million in annual accountancy revenue.
Prior to joining AXA Financial, Lou was a general manager of the MONY Group, overseeing an agency that, under his direction, had one of the most successful track records in the company’s history. Lou received many company and industry awards during his tenure, the most coveted of which was MONY’s James H. Lake Award, recognizing overall leadership, profitability, productivity, and community involvement. In MONY’s 150+ year history, Lou was one of only three general managers to receive this annual award more than once.
On a personal note, Lou and his wife Kathie established the New York Chapter of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 1982. Lou serves as board chairman.
He led efforts in 2004 to establish the Bivona Child Advocacy Center in Rochester, New York, which streamlines the process of law enforcement and human service professionals to address the needs of child sexual abuse victims and dramatically increases the conviction rate for child sex crimes. Lou’s work with the Center over the years has earned him numerous community recognition awards, including the 2002 Monroe County Crime Victims’ Advocate Award, the 2001 Boxing Hall of Fame Humanitarian Award, the 1995 Boys’ Town of Italy Man of the Year Award, and the 1985 President Reagan Recognition Award for Community Service, to name a few.
An avid sports enthusiast, Lou holds a black belt in Karate, enjoys extreme skiing, rollerblading and is an active cyclist.
