Our mission

The mission of Bivona Child Advocacy Center is to coordinate and provide services and support to meet the needs of child victims of sexual or physical abuse and their families at a single and safe, child-friendly facility. The Center is committed to reducing trauma, promoting accountability, fostering healing, and advocating on behalf of child victims of sexual and physical abuse.

Our vision

That every child has access to the services of a children’s advocacy center.

Bivona Summit on Child Abuse

Join us April 25 & 26, 2012 for our annual Bivona Summit on Child Abuse, a multidisciplinary training conference for professionals. The Summit offers a comprehensive program at an affordable price, presented by national, regional and local experts in their field. Register by April 16th or contact us if you’d like to be included on next year’s invitation list.

Board Member

Melisza Campos

Melisza Campos is the General Manager of the Dale Carnegie Rochester office. She is a multi-course certified Dale Carnegie trainer. This is a process that takes over 300 hours of training. In Melisza’s current position, she is focused on training, corporate solutions and operational management.

Dale Carnegie partners with organizations to increase performance by working with companies to design solutions to enable them to reach the next level of performance

Campos has been an award-winning Training Consultant and trainer for Dale Carnegie for more than three years. She has also been honored to present at the Dale Carnegie global convention in the past and share best practices.

Previous to moving to Rochester, Campos worked for Dale Carnegie in Philadelphia for three years. Melisza has been an organizational entrepreneur, in the sense that she has created and is now heading a global corporate initiative to retain professionals in the Dale Carnegie network. She knows that Dale Carnegie will make an organization a great place to work, and the bigger picture is to make Rochester a great place to work by improving the performance of people in our community to make us competitive.

In Melisza’s spare time, she volunteers for the Rochester Hispanic Youth Baseball League as secretary and a board member. Melisza is a founder of LADO (Latin American Democratic Organization) which is designed to get youth Latinos involved in the political realm and in the community.

Melisza has served as:

  • Founding member of LADO (Latin American Democratic Organization)
  • Board member Rochester Hispanic Youth Baseball League
  • Founder of Jay Advertising Giving Tree Program for under-privileged children at Berkshire Farms Agency
  • Member of the Young Democrats of Monroe County
