Jon Aho provides general corporate counsel to individual clients. In addition, he is a member of the firm’s trusts and estates practice groups focusing on issues and concerns effecting owners of closely-held businesses. His experience includes the following:
- Drafting and negotiating employment agreements, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, and other documents relative to the ownership, operation and management of businesses.
- Drafting wills and trusts, including federal estate and gift tax analysis.
- Fiduciary liability litigation, representing both fiduciaries and beneficiaries.
- Administering estates, including the analysis and preparation of state and federal estate and gift tax returns.
- Drafting and negotiating transactional documents, including buy/sell agreements and documents affecting private and public placements of corporate securities.
Professional and Civic Activities
A lifetime Rochester resident, Jon has been active in local, state and national politics.
Prior to law school, he was a senior research analyst for the New York State Senate. During law school, he served as Executive Editor for State Constitutional Commentary for the Albany Law Review.
Jon is a member of the Monroe County and New York State Bar Associations.
